New WorkshopThe Saddlery Training Centre Ltd.

The Saddlery Training Centre opened in September 2000 and has since become established as the only centre to offer the Modern Apprenticeship Scheme and also its bespoke range of courses which aim to support those in the trade whether they are apprentices or saddlers wishing to update their skills and gain qualifications.

The centre works in close association with The Saddlers Company, The Society of Master Saddlers, City & Guilds, ABC Awards, Skillset, Haddon Training Ltd and the British Equestrian Trade Association (BETA).

The Centre has been approved to deliver the Governments Modern Apprenticeship Scheme and is an approved assessment centre for the City & Guilds National Saddlery Skill Assessment and Qualification Scheme for the Saddlery Trade. The awarding bodies are the City and Guilds of London Institute and The Saddlers’ Company. In a recent Ofsted inspection the Centre was graded outstanding for the quality of training provision and in the support of candidates during their training programme.

The Saddlery Training Centre aims to offer a flexible approach to individual training requirements and offers the following schemes of training:

We have two specialist consultants, Richard Godden and John McDonald who are experts in the areas of side-saddle and collar/harness making. In recent years John McDonald has delivered the collar making course from his workshop but candidates can make enquiries through us.

We hope that those of you who have attended courses in the past or those of you intending to do so in the future, will feel reassured that we are well established in our workshops in Salisbury and will look forward to working with you in the future.
